Startup Chimes?

I have a question regarding the 5 or 6 really loud chimes that go off upon entering my key into the ignition and starting the car. I have noticed that sometimes they go off, and sometimes they don't. I have tried different combinations of timing and door positions, etc. while starting the car but haven't been able to figure out what activates them or not. I would love to be able to permanently disable them if possible. Does anyone know more about them? Thanks

My guess is that it's the seat belt indicator chime..?

Interesting, I'll experiment with that. It never chimes any other times though when the car is running and I remove my seatbelt. (One of the things I actually really like about my C5.

Nope, not for seatbelts. Made no chimes when I got in and started it today without seatbelt buckled.

Is the door open, lights on etc...
Does it say brake before shifting.
