Tsumi, are your low beams in the stock housing? The sharp cut off line looks more like a projector.
HID’s: I’ve tried them a few times an have nothing but bad luck. I have a set of the highest power halogen bulbs in the fogs and tho’ not as bright as the HID (when they work) they do show up. However, I like the yellow light that Tsumi’s produce with the film.
My headlights have HIR bulbs I bought thru Daniel Stern. They are brighter than stock, but I don’t have any wall to aim them with, so I think they are all over the place, because the light produced by the lows is inadequate for normal night driving.

They are 50 watt FX-R 3.0s, so yes, one of the best, if not the best aftermarket projector available. There is no way to get that kind of lighting out of the stock housings.

that’s what I figured. Is it a huge changeover like some of the others?

The difference was significant, but it took a lot of work, mostly because I was doing it from scratch. I'm also not able to seal it because of how big the projectors are, they get too close to the housing.
I just put these in, took 10 to 15 minutes each. I think the trick was to take out the hood stopper bolt. GM could have left a couple more inches of wire on the terminal though

Reason: install time clarification.
What are your thoughts regarding results/performance?
You mentioned cables were kind of short. Did they finally reach without remaining too stressed?
I haven’t driven at night yet, but In the garage they looked much, much brighter. They reached without stressing the cables but I had to reach down and make the connection with one hand.

Just bought these. $46/pr shipped. From what I've been reading the Phillips Luxeon Lumiled Z-ES is the latest technology. These are "cool white" to go with my fantastic ACA bi-xenon headlights from Radioflyer. Did not get yellow because from what I've read the idea that yellow is "better" in fog has been disproved.
Hope to install these soon and really hoping I can do it from above by just removing the headlight bezel, maybe the eyelid. We'll see.
i've read over the years that a lot of lighting guys recommend max of 35W if using HIDs in stock fogs due to the plastic lens (or upgrade to glass w/ 55W).
i tried some $10 LEDs from the auction site because "why not?" - they work great with a little elbow grease, and for that price, you can't beat it. write-up is below: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ht-review.html
otherwise, Beamtech has a nice set for $30, and they use heatsinks rather than fans (no moving parts to fail) and i think they actually lock when you twist them in.

Plastic lenses in the OEM fogs?
I had OEM fogs in my 99 and now in my 03.
Both had glass lenses and I used 55w HIDs in both that are on whenever it is dark........never had any heat issues and great light output with nice sharp cut-offs.
fair enough. when i was cleaning mine a couple weeks ago, they sure didn't feel like glass.
i coulda swore one of the lighting guys a while back said something about them being some type of polymer, but i've also been called crazy a lot.

I can only speak for both OEM sets I had and have in my C5s.
Installed them today. I was able to do it by removing the headlight bezels and eyelids but it was VERY tight so it took a while and I scratched up my arms. So here's a hint for anyone planning to install new headlight units (ACA for example): Do the LED fog light bulbs at the same time. With the headlight buckets removed changing the fog light bulbs should be a snap.
Photo shows new LED compared to original. The corner lights are LED switchbacks and the headlights are ACA Bi-xenons from Radioflyer.
