Marines have been going the extra mile ever since inception of the Corps, and my respect for them, already high, is even more so.

FYI, my father Milton Worth, was a fire controlman aboard Navy destroyer DD 398 (the Ellet). He first boarded the Ellet immediately after that ship returned from escorting the carriers Hornet and Enterprise on the "Doolittle" raid of Tokyo in early 1942. While on the Ellet, Dad saw combat in the following actions:
Coral Sea, Kwajalein Midway, Eniwetak, Tulagi , Saipan, the Bonins Islands, Savo Island, Palau, Guadalcanal, Guam, the Philippines Sea and Iwo Jima.
To all those who have honorably served, thank you. Pay it forward.
