Default Recaro Speed V

Anyone have an idea how much the new Recaro Speed V seats, specially made for C5, C6 and C7 cars, will cost?
I'm particularlly interested in the cloth with the submarine slot. They won't be out untill March, but well worth the wait.

I'm interested in these too. They'll probably be $1,000-$1,200.

^ sounds about right.
I've sat in the Speed S in my neighbor's Infiniti, and the V looks to be basically the same with a little different base that looks even more supportive.. they are very comfortable and high quality.

AHHHH Crap. I'm on my 4th set of seats because I have never found perfection. LOL (Stock, Apsis, Procar, 12-13 C6). I didn't want to see this because that'll get me thinking. STOP IT.

It will be interesting to see if they ACTUALLY fit them in a C5 before hand. C5s and C6s are not identical in that regard and there have been seats advertised before that specifically mention C5 and C6 corvettes, but they fit in a C6 and not correctly in a C5.

They should buy a demo C5, install them and take it to car shows. They'd sell a bunch that way.

Can they mount on the current seat base or do they need to have sliders?

I've read everything I can get my hands on and it sounds like it is a direct fit.

There was a post on the facebook Z06 group about them that linked to a SEMA release article. I think the price quote was posted by a member to the group, though, not from the article. I'd have to do some digging to be sure.

Ive been looking into Braum seats.
When used in conjunction with Planted seat brackets look to fit well in a C5
Downside is you may chose to convert to c6 belts or switch Drivers and passenger seats.

I spoke with Customer Service at Recaro today. No submarine slot available on these seats currently. However, the more people that are interested could generate a green light to produce.

$1400 per seat + $300 for the mounting bracket.
Vivid racing and Stable Energies (Recaro Master distributor) are taking orders now.

someone in the c6 section sold some recently and said they wouldn't fit their c5 because of the seatbelt so I'm thinking they will fit with c6 seatbelts but I can't be 100% sure... I talked to recaro and they didn't have an answer either, they said those seats fit the c6 and c7 but they didn't try on a c5... fwiw the speed looks to be the same exact seat as the speed v just with different upholstery and $400 cheaper... from what I'm gathering you don't need a recaro specific base either, you can get a recaro slider and bolt that directly to any other aftermarket base that bolts into these cars

Exactly what I said when they were announced.

Tried them in my C5.
They wouldn't fit because of the seat belt retractor in our cars.

how about the seat back, were you able to get the seat to go all the way back?... I tried some recaros out of a mitsubishi evolution x and the seat backs were too bulky (probably because of the side air bags)

I finally gave up on these and got some Sparco Evo IIs from AMT Motorsports when they had their cyber Monday sale last November. No regrets. They fit like a glove. I used AMT seat rails, which are pretty cool and had a bunch of options for adjustments.
