Default C5 front will not lower, how is this possible?

Hey everyone, my C5 2003 ZO6 has been extremely stubborn in lowering the front end. Im hoping to order coilovers before Christmas anyways, but still so curious as to why my car wont come down.

My father has a 2004 ZO6 lowered on stock bolts, with the front bushings cut in half and his front front fender arch from flat ground is literally an inch lower than mine, How is that even possible? wheel/tire diameter are identical.

Here's everything leading up to where I am now,
First I lowered the car by turning the stock bolts down, it was lower but still very 4x4.

I took a drive up to WCC and got a set of lowering bolts font and rear. Install was very easy, the rear was dramatic, actually too low the first time I set it down (almost tucking tire) I had to raise it an inch or two. The front, completely maxed out on the lowering bolts, was barely lower than it was on stock bolts.

I let the car settle for a week, it is my daily so it definitely had more than 100 miles put on it, the next weekend after reading some threads on here I decided to completely remove the front bolts all together, I used a thin sheet of rubber material in between the leaf spring and control arm to keep any contact noise minimal. I read that after removing front bolts people were "scraping road reflectors" with their front air scoops, mine doesn't even scrape backing straight out of my driveway.

As I said I'm ordering a set of coilovers early next month, which I know will solve the lowering issue and allow for more adjustment in all aspects, but just what in the hell is keeping mine up so high?

sounds like you need an iron block and a blower up front to push that thing down

does seem weird, have any pics?

Heres a crappy side shot but should show it pretty good. Its reverse raked, going to crank up the rear end more until I get coilovers it seems like.
But again just don't get how my fathers measures one full inch lower than mine

That rear height is absolutely perfect, just need that front to come down! I'm also riding on no bolts up front, still too high for my taste.

As long as you don't go fast you will be ok with the current ride height. One of the reasons you have such a high front end is the rear end is to low and it is torquing the front end higher. The advantages with coil-overs is you can establish the ride height and stance you want and bottom out your shocks. Remember to maintain the correct rake on the car or you will experience flight takeoff when hitting about 125 mph.

like gordy said, the back is lowered than the front,

get some taller wheel/tire combo on the rear, or coilover can fix that or both

and the only way to decrease the front gap is coilovers

Hopefully ordering coilovers next week.. Cant wait to get her cranked down, also curious how it will feel without the leaf springs.
Now just what ones to get!

As for the tire combo my ccws are 17/18 stock width, running stock tire sizes, I heard if I went up to a taller sidewall it would mess with the traction control system?

Hahaha definitely dont want to be taking flight!

About to order some coilovers, have some sway bars ready to go in at the same time. Was really just curious as to how my dads 04 Z is an inch lower with stock bolts, bushings cut, whereas mine has literally zero bolt to hold it up

hahha i missed that, 80 to 100lb iron block, and blower set up would be sure to help

From what I've learned you just need to keep the back tire between 1/2" and 1 1/2" taller than the front for traction control to work. Can be any size you want as long as you stay within that window front to back.

RAKE: If you measure on the frame rail at the Tie down points the back needs to be 1/4" higher.
