Time well spent.
Finally stop procrastinating, and did the job, yesterday, and finished today.
All in all, about an hour and a half total to replace it.
Let the epoxy harden overnight, and put the unit in this morning.
Thank Christ, no more grinding noise.
One other thing that was also fixed by replacing this gear was my fog lights.
When ever I just wanted the fogs on(like early evening), I would turn the switch to light them, but the headlight doors also raised at the same time.
Never had a problem until the plastic gear gave out.
Now everything is back and tightened down, and the fogs work perfectly without raising the headlight doors.
Before getting started on this, the first thing you should do is to remove the rubber bumper pictured.
It will give more room to get behind the unit to get at the bolts on the motor.
Mark the threads so when putting it back, it will be in the same position it was when you removed it.
As you can see. I marked the threads in blue.

Bob.
