When I had my C5 I put on C5 Z06 springs, lowered the bolts all the way, and put C6 Z06 shocks all around (all parts were found and purchased here on the forum). Probably cost me $500.00 and the difference was night & day (for the better!).
I just ordered from Gene at Cultrag Performance the C6Z06 shocks and the C6 Z51 sway bars. I did this based on all the positive feedback I've read about the upgrades here on the Forum. Price was great too, got in on the Black Friday 10% off deal
we did the same, (just the coil-overs) special under 1100 dollars for all four !!!!!!
The sway bar and end links took the price to $1,219 shipped! Couldn't pass it up! Looking forward to the install and the ride. I still have my original shocks on!
What are you guys running in the rear for better traction and handling?
So this can be a bit of a tricky question based on what your starting with.
I began with FE1 and wanted a decent, yet aggressive street handling car. There are countless forum threads on this, including front to rear ratios (aka the understeer/oversteer issue). How not to have a plow, etc. This forum helped me figure all of this out.
My car ended up with what I deemed a reliable set up for my driving habits and objectives. All OEM.
Rear: C6 Z06 sway bar, C6 Z06 shocks, C5 Z51 leaf spring
Front: C5 Z06 sway bar, C6 Z06 shocks, C6 Z51 leaf spring
It may take a little experimentation (and a few throw away bucks) to find what feels "right" to you.
This forum rocks! Cheers to all the countless and valuable contributors.
