Though I don't have a lot of miles on my tires (not my DD), it is nearing time to replace them. Maybe next summer.Looking at Tire Rack, they have none in the OE size for Z06.
What brand and where can I go? Suggestions other than "another" set of wheels for different tire-sizing?Thanks ahead !!
Believe me, Allegro, you are not alone! Most people do what Killian stated. I did the same sizes when it was time when I had my Z. Trouble is with the 265 front size.
I went with the new Continental Extreme Contact Sports in 275/40 front and 295/35 rear. Exellent tire!
Steve
Those would have been my choice as well (loved the previous generation Extreme Contact WD tires on several other vehicles), but the PO put a fresh set of Nitto NT05 in the same noted sizes on the Z06 rims on the car just before I bought it from him
Toyo Proxes T1 seem to be the best current option
Goodyear F1 are not as good and crazy $ (ask me)
Bridgestone discontinued or out of stock?
Michelin still maybe with stock sizing?

Other than the Goodyear F1s, I couldn't find any complete sets in the stock Z06 sizes. Looks like you would have to adjust the fronts a bit if you wanted to go with a matched set other than the Goodyears.

The Bridgestone RE760 Sport can still be found online if you scrounge around. I've had the Hankook V12 on a few cars, and I've liked them - good traction dry and wet, decent tire life, a little loud (probably not noticeable on a C5Z with all the other noise). NT05 is a more expensive option, but I only use them as track tires, they're sketchy in the rain. At that price point, for a street tire, Michelin PSS is the category leader.

I will agree with you about the Nitto NT05 in the wet.
The newer Continental Extreme Contact Sport tested very well against the new Michelin PS S4 (which are not offered in the C5 sizes).
The Extreme Contact Sport replaces the older Extreme Contact DW which tested very well against the older Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (which still offered the C5 sizes).
Considering the price difference between the newer Continental Extreme Contact Sport and the older Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 as well as the testing results, I would think the Continentals would be hands down the better premium priced tire choice, but then again what the heck do I know anyways
I've read many comments about NT-05's not being good in the rain. I'm certainly not saying there aren't better tires in the rain, but my experience in heavy downpours on the highway was that they performed fine. Obviously, I was driving conservatively and not doing anything crazy, but had no issues. My .02 cents
The rear axle provides the vehicle speed, each wheel has speed sensors the provide input to make sure the ratio if the front-to-back diameter is with a specified ration (usually between .5" to 1.1") for the ABS/AH to work correctly. When buying tires make sure the diameters of the front and rear fall into that ratio. Theoretically you can run any size tire that will fit the wheel but for most practical matters 275/295 work well for the Z wheels and 255/275 for the standard wheels. Aspect ratios also come into play.
