Question about targa tops
I have noticed that some of the targa tops have the body cross member that runs across the roof (directly behind the side windows and the removable roof panel) that are black, and some of them are the same color as the rest of the car. What is this called, and was one or the other an option?

Some people either paint or wrap the halo area (the area to which you are referring) black to give the car a different look. That area comes from the factory painted just like the rest of the car.
