Default Installing oil dipstick after headers

I just installed LG super pro headers on a 2003 z06 and I'm having a difficult time location the oil dipstick location on the engine. I think I found it by the starter and the dipstick tube goes in a bit but there's no way to mount it anywhere. The tube is still too high and it looks like it should be going in more.

Anyone have any tips?

Thanks.

First thing make sure it the right dip stick .. The dip stick will ,should have a O-ring make sure it has one , put a little oil on it ,I had to give mine a little tap with ,a peace or wood something ,don't bend it and you should feel the O-ring start in the hole . You can feel it going in it will go in a few inches .. Make sure you got it lined up like it goes and in the right place and give a little tap you should fell in going in .. .. Get a light and look under the headers make sure its in right .. Sounds like sex instructions ,,LOL

Alright thanks for the advice. I'll give it another shot after dinner.

Is this the right hole?

Here's a view from the top that shows the dipstick still sticking out.

Where do you mount the dipstick?

Move your dipstick between the primary of cylinders 2 and 4. Then install. You'll see the bolt hole on the cylinder head. This should work for you.

Thanks for the help! I was able to get it in. I wasn't using the space between cylinders 2 and 4. I oiled it up and it slid right in.

This bothered me for a while. I could never get it seated all the way, but enough to block the hole and prevent anything from entering it. I ended up going with a lokar flexible dipstick, sits a bit lower now.
