looks like you are a new poster, welcome.....you can control the "feedback" in the Driver Control center. just flashing lights is one option. another option is for the horn to honk.

I believe you can go into the options on your DIC and turn the horn report on or off. Mine was like that when I got it and it was really simple to go in and turn back on. I will say that the horn report when you lock the doors is obnoxiously loud which is why I bet some people turn it off. The C5 maybe just has a really loud horn?

As others said, the DIC allows for "horn and lights" or "lights only" (maybe even horn only??).
Wish I could turn the horn off on our (my winter vehicle) '10 Grand Caravan. First thing I did with the Z. Same goes for my wife's Rogue, but she likes the noise.
Edit; my winter vehicle, the van, used to be my wife's DD. Seeing as it is now mine... a quick Internet search brought up a 5 second way to turn off the honk on arming! Cool. Peace...

I say NO to horn, just noise pollution.

killing off the horn report was the first thing i did (when i discovered it could be done, lol). flashing lights are good enough indication the stuff is set or unset for me.

I turned off my horn because I have the window valet and three honks is very obnoxious/

Mine is the same. In my case, 2000 base coupe, the option for horn and lights isn’t there in the menu on the dic. I tried to figure it out every once in a while, over a few months, gave up.

From the owners manual:

Lock and Arm
Press the OPTIONS button until LOCK & ARM appears on the display, then use the RESET button to page through the following selections: LOCK & ARM - OFF LOCK & ARM - HORN ONLY LOCK & ARM - LIGHTS ONLY LOCK & ARM - HORN & LIGHTS If you choose LOCK & ARM - OFF, you will receive no security feedback when locking or unlocking your vehicle. If you choose LOCK & ARM - HORN ONLY, only the horn will chirp to let you know when your alarm system has armed when locking your vehicle.

If you choose LOCK & ARM - LIGHTS ONLY, only your exterior lamps will flash to let you know when your alarm system has armed when locking your vehicle. If you choose LOCK & ARM - HORN & LIGHTS, the horn will chirp and the exterior lamps will flash briefly to let you know the system has armed when locking your vehicle.

The option for horn, or lights and horn, isn’t there in the lock and arm menu on the dic in my car. The only options are off, and lights only. Odd, but I’m not particularly concerned about it. I didn’t see any codes that I thought might effect this either, so ... beats me.
