Window Regulator

I have a 2002 C5 and the driver's window sounds terrible going up and down and sometimes it doesn't want to go in either direction...is this the window regulator that is bad and is that a typical item that stops operating on the C5's...? Thanks for any response from someone who has had the same issue.

Thanks for the reply...should know for sure after tomorrow if it is the driver's side window regulator or something else. Is this a salvaged product or new?

ok...yes it is used...never an issue

new is like $225

When the passenger side regulator went out on my 98, I replaced it with a new one. I think I got it from here: http://www.carparts.com/details/Chev...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

and it has a 1 year warranty too.

I replaced both regulators on my '04 for less the $80. Installation is not too difficult. Check on ebay.

Everyone has their own opinion on fixes and so on....speaking from experience, buy OEM if you can.
I had purchased those cheap aftermarket unit off of eBay for my 03 Silverado.
In a 2 year time frame I had to replace the drivers side once and the passenger side twice. Not worth it if you ask me.

My passenger side regulator went on my 04 and replaced it with a new Delco unit. No problems.
