Quick Jack

Times have changed regarding this lift. When it first appeared a few years ago the forum opinion here was: YOU'RE GONNA DIE, if you use this lift. Also no way in h**l I'm using that thing. But time has shown this unit to be well made and the Vette is very stable when lifted. I've had no trouble with mine and very happy with the purchase.
If you don't have the room or money for a 2/4 post lift and you don't mind working from a creeper then the Quickjack is a fine choice.
I got the 3500 model. It's strong enough for the 'vette but if you're going to be lifting other heavier vehicles you'll need a greater capacity Quickjack.
The 3500 doesn't weigh much and it doesn't need much storage room:
I was able to get mine on sale for $900 which made my buying decision easy.

3500 model as well
I got the 5000 because I have a crew cab Silverado and I wanted to be able to lift it. Lifts it just enough to get the rear tires barely off the ground.
And it slams low enough to get under the vette.

I recently did my harmonic balancer swap, and holy sh*t, I had to go back and forth between going under the car, then up top, then back. I was lifting the car 21" in the air and then 30 seconds later slamming it to the ground to access bolts I couldn't get from below. Helped me in the sense that I didn't have to climb a stepstool and bend over for long periods because the car was on jack stands. I just dropped the car and worked on it.... When I was ready to get under it again, push the button and I'm set.
I plan on building a shop with a 2 post lift, but this thing is ridiculously awesome for being mobile. I'm debating on hooking a trailer up to the Z for autocross events with a set of wheels on it, and I can slap these babies on the trailer with ease if I really wanted.

The mechanical stops on this lift are rock-solid.
