Default Brake Question, Std vs Z06

I've 'searched', but did not find a solid answer. So.... can someone tell me if there is a difference between brake calipers and rotors on a coupe vs Z06? I'm considering upgrading the brakes on my coupe and trying to evaluate options. Another option would be Wilwood 4 piston calipers, but I'm concerned about clearance with aftermarket wheels. Please educate me. Thx!

Same calipers and rotors. I think the brake pads may have varied, slightly. Best to upgrade to the Wilwoods. You won't be disappointed.

This is correct. Different pad material, same calipers and rotors. Not gonna be worth the switch unless you NEED new stuff, someone has some z stuff for a good price, and you don't plan on much heavy track time.

The only difference in the calipers is the color. Z06 calipers are red. The Z06 pads may use a slightly different compound.

You will have to research how (or if!) aftermarket brake systems will clear the wheels. It might be a good idea to just try pads with a different compound to see how they will improve braking performance.

There are a number of aftermarket rotors that are drilled and slotted, slotted only, or drilled only. These are available in stock diameters and stock widths. For street use, they will work fine.

I'd like to upgrade to the Wilwood, but it's almost impossible to determine which aftermarket wheels will clear them (mainly on the front). If anyone has experience with aftermarket wheels over the W calipers, I'd like to hear from you.

I should have mentioned that I will be upgrading to 18x8.5" & 19x10" rims with std C6 tire sizes.

If you decide to look at other wheel options R1 Concepts has printable templates you can use to design a kit to clear any size wheels. Piston quantity, rotor diameter, etc. Simply print, staple to a piece of card stock and cut carefully and it's very very close.

It's the shallowest, and lowest mounted BBK i've used. I could have cleared my 8 Piston 355mm kit on stock thin spokes with a small spacer if I wanted.
