Ordered one from Vettenuts.
A special shout out to Marc as well. He brought that shipping down to a very reasonable rate. Top grades on communication as well. Thanks Marc!!

Safety Car
a few years back I ordered a couple things from him, a headlight switch (I broke mine and the car wasn't functional as a DD without it, obviously) and went ahead and got his insulation kit while I was at it.
I got the email saying that the insulation kit takes a week to cut, and when I told him my situation he shipped the other stuff out ASAP in another box so I could get back on the road, at no extra cost.

Have you picked one yet?
I have had good luck with my mechless unit from Alpine. It's all driven off your smartphone, no disc or navi.
I had an older Kenwood prior to this one and it had many Gremlins that does not plague this one (so far)
Everyone needs to go double din IMO and buy their bezels from Vettenuts!

Beautiful bezel !!!
I have just begun my search for a head unit. Thanks for the info
When I looked up the Alpine Mech-Less receivers they look great but beyond what I want to spend on a head unit.
I would like to get a unit under $400 that has:
Android support
Bluetooth
USB input
Dual Camera Inputs
Garmin GPS
But I may skip the Nav due to cost as I have a nice Garmin already installed in my 03.
It will be awhile before my Vettenuts bezel arrives, so I have time to find a head unit.
Thanks again,
Jim

Melting Slicks
They still exist in the new premium Kenwoods. I dumped it an got another Pioneer, being surprised that the Nav actually works better that the Krapwood Garmin.
Indeed, AVICs are Pioneer. Not a fan of their customer support, but had had good luck with their 'stuff'.

I ordered one of Marc's bezels, and in the process of trying to figure out what hu to get. I currently have an AVIC 5200NEX in another vehicle and don't know if I'll get another. It hangs up sometimes and I have to reboot. Currently have a Kenwood single din in the vette and have had no problems. Just want the Carplay capability. It's nice to be able to give voice commands for messages and phone calls.

^never had pioneer but had Kenwood and now Alpine.
Recommend Alpine for SQ and lack of buggy software.
