Need New Tires for my C5
Own a 2000 C5 Roadster. Still has the original tires on it. They will be 18 years old this year so think it best to replace them this year. Only 21,000+ miles on the car. Checked out my options at a local Belle Tire and only the Goodyear Eagle F1's (run flat) will fit according to their database ( I thought they had stopped making those tires or so I was told sometime ago). I know that some of the other Corvette owners i know have switched to Mitchellin's but Belle Tire says that are not available in run-flats for the C5 Corvette. Just wondering what other options there are for me?..and again not a racer, just cruise around in the summer months going to cruise nights and a show once in awhile....live in Michigan.
thanks

Check www.tirerack.com. They have a variety of tires for our cars in both run flats and standard. Great prices and they will deliver to your door or your installers.

For as little as you drive and your style of driving, you sure don't need the best tires. They will be expired long before they are worn out. If it were me I would get the Firestone Indy 500s for less than 5 hundred bucks a set and carry a can of tire inflater.

Here you go, 18 choices of original size tires for your 2000 C5.

IMO, go with non-runflats. Cheaper, less noise, rides much smoother, and better grip than stock.
I have the MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT
tires on my 02 and the CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT SPORT tires on my 99. The Michelin tires are better but also more $.
I almost forgot....18 years Your car should not be driven with tires that old

Agree you should check with Tire Rack on what is available and don't forget to replace the TPMS sensors as they are probably at the end of their life cycle.
I purchased the BFG's and new sensors from Tire Rack for my 1999 C5 with no regrets.

I went with the Hankook Ventus V12 Evos on my car and have not regretted it at all. Maybe a little higher price than the Firestones, but I have no complaints about the ride, handling, road noise, traction or wear from them.

Agree on the Ventus V12's. Have had mine for 6 years....Loved'em and just getting toward replacement time this upcoming spring. That said, considering Nitto NT555 G2's. I want to fatten up the look just a bit with 255/45's up front and 285/40's out back and there aren't that many manufacturers that make those sizes in a summer UHP from what I've seen. Any feedback on the NT555 G2's is appreciated. Thanks.
