I've noticed that sometimes the radio is slow to power up.
My guess is the unit's boot time. It'd be way easier (no 'hacking' into the wiring) to use a Corvette Valet; one setting option is radio ON when unlocking the doors. It simply plugs into the OBDII socket.

Any reason it can't be reprogrammed directly in the BCM?
I prefer modifying.the stock bezel. Options are only limited by your imagination. Just did this mod. Its off being hydro dipped in black carbon fiber and then will get a half leather wrap.

Did you do this yourself? If so, might I ask what you used? I've looked around & it seems like most people use some sort of body filler to create these. Looks really good. I'm looking into installing a Surface tablet into my car & creating a "Tesla" like look in the car. I never listen to the radio, pandora occasionally, but that's internet & not radio.
