Congrats! My corvettes make great daily drivers as I even throw snow tires on them and use them all year round.
Your car looks great...
What brand seats and did you mount them on the stock base or did yo put in new rails?
Congrats again and what a great deal..

Reading the first part and looking at the pictures I felt like I had gone back in time to nsogiba's introduction thread

I like them a lot so far. Seem to be quiet and perform well. I mainly bought them because they were on close out for under $100 each at my local tire shop and have a long tread life rating. I ended up buying two sets and putting the second set on the shelf for later since i got both sets for under the cost of anything else I could buy at the time

Its just flat black spray paint from ace hardware. Make sure you clean off any previous paint jobs or armorall type material before painting. Mine was plastidipped by the previous owner and was a nightmare to remove. I ended up sanding most of it off and using acetone to scrub it prior to painting.

I keep a very detailed spreadsheet for my projects and my entire life to be honest. Total for mods and sorting out the car with needed repairs : $2,780. I do a lot of craigslist/marketplace shopping for good deals

thanks everyone for the encouragement. I feel like I have been hurting the feelings of all the real corvette guys out there by modifying the car but hey, its mine so ill make it my own.
I am an engineer by degree but build a little of everything. I started as the typical kid in Hondas back in the 90's and have been restoring them until recently to be commuter cars for myself. I never got into the ricer mods, fortunately for me but have lost interest in them almost completely after almost 20 years of playing with them.
Here's a pic of what i normally work on. I do a bit of fire fighting by night also

Anyway, you do ahead a mod the hell out of that Vette. It's your car and, it should reflect your personality. I like what you did by adding the touch screen radio. I did that mod to my car last year, and it is the most useful mod possible for the C5 Vette. You get functionality like front and read cameras, Bluetooth, GPS with moving map, DVD, CD, MP4, MP3, etc.
BTY, why did you lock the seats to only one position with the brackets?

Plus i didnt really trust the Chinese made mechanisms wouldnt fail in an accident and taco me inside the car so removing them and replacing with a bracket 20 times stronger is more my style.
So i set the seats in a comfortable position for me to drive in, which is laid slightly back compared to a manufactured fixed position seats so I would be more comfortable on my daily commutes.

Love the double din. I like the fact you deleted the ash tray. New cars today don't have them anymore. You're doing a great job with your car. Make it yours since your the one that has to like it. I also did the same thing with an old seat I had and love sitting in it at the computer. I found 3 more seats to convert now too.

So i cracked my windshield letting the car defrost in the cold temps last week so i go Saturday to have the glass replaced.
I was shocked to see the HUD option meant the replacement windshield was $749 before tax but a nonHUD is $289. so take a guess which option I chose.
