Default 2004 ZO6 Question

Is there any reliable information out there about whether an hp change is planned for the C5 in '04? I'm assuming we won't see the C6 until '05.

Just rumors so far. There won't be anything firm until spring.

:yesnod: Went to a rally where Wil Cooksey (BG PM) spoke and he said that the 2004 C5 will have more power. He would not say which model or how much. :nonod:

Im also very interested in the z06 for 2004, rumors have it that the HP will be bumped to 425HP-450HP. I just hope the latter come true :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

It's supposed to be bumped to 425hp according to what I've heard. Also, supposedly 2004 is the "last year" for the C5, and they're probably bumping the coupes power a little as well.

Thanks for your input, guys. I'm hoping it's 450 hp :D. A 20 hp increase to 425 hp just wouldn't be enough incentive for me to trade my '02 Z. Thanks.

Remember the 01 has 385, the 02 went to 405 only a 20 hp jump. But do not expect an increase until the C6. :yesnod: :yesnod: And then it may only be another 20 hp to 425!

True, but I knew they wouldn't do it for '03 as soon as the C6 got pushed back another MY, and '04 was to be the last C5. They decided to use the '50th anniv' hoopla to try to sell cars for the '03 MY. Now they save the best for last, now that the 'last' is finally here. It makes marketing sense - they know what they're doing. :)

I have it on good authority that the HP in 04 will be a tad shy of 900. In addition the 04 vette will have six tail lights and a new progressive eight bulb headlight system. In a brilliant move chevrolet is going to use 13inch wheels on the new vette to give it that lowered look. The 04 Z will be the first year it is offered in a convertable with push button operation. Lastly to get all the new power to the ground chevy is coming out with a one speed stick,in testing they found it to be more reliable than the six speed. Sorry all but thats all the info I was able to get from a high placed insider at Chevrolet that must remain unnamed.

I am wondering about the 04 Z06 HP too. I have a chance to buy a new Yellow Z06 next month at a great price, but i don't know if i should wait for an 04 and just enjoy the Convertible now. I have to sell my Convertible to get the Z06

Waiting for what may happen next will make you nuts. Cause then, why not wait to see what the C6 has in store. Then wait on the C6 version of the Z06, then wait for.....

That was the rumored horsepower that people were spreading on this forum for the 2003 Z06. One thing that is pretty clear about the rumors that appear in this forum - they are always wrong :yesnod:

Life is short and if you wait long enough you can miss your chance to do something you've wanted to do...
