Default C5 Drivers seat question

Bought a 2001 Corvette and am in the process of fixing all of the things that the prior owner neglected. One of the things I have noticed now that I have driven it a bit is that there is a protrusion on the left side of the driver seat that digs into your hip when driving. I pulled the seat off today and looked inside and it appears that the bulge is a welded steel flange on the seat that is used for the reclining back. So it is structural and I can't remove it.

What is my best option for removing the pain in my left side? Should I just get some new seat padding and will that be good enough that it will stop digging into my hip?

I bought a seat cushion and solved the problem.

Chances are that over time the seat foam has been compressed by use to the point you are now feeling the flange. New seat foam would most likely solve the problem and while you are in there consider some jute pads to help prevent the protrusions from coming through the foam.

I did exactly what VJ said. And built up about 5 layers of duct tape on the "paddle"to avoid it from happening again.
