sun visor glove/sleeve/whatever
So here is my latest thought: I have been thinking about recovering the sun visors in my 2002. Rather than removing them and having them totally redone, I was thinking more along the lines of installing slip covers (for lack of a better term) made from leather to slide over the visors while still attached. Does anyone know of a manufacturer of such a thing? Or I could try to find a template or draw one up myself and have them locally made I suppose. Maybe someone has a template already (hint hint)?

Those are a pretty good deal as when I had mine recovered for my 98, I think they were like $200

I think you can just take them off and take them to an upholstery shop and have them sew new material of your choice on...or just buy new visors which are not cheap....

I went to the site that JR-01 posted. They seem to only be available in black. I am looking for red. Sent the company an email to see if they could make up a pair of red ones. Thanks to everyone so far...

Would be interesting to see those covers from all angles, especially where the velcro attaches.

Having the floppy ear syndrome, I thought about that. I decided to go with new visors. Easy to install and I am glad I went that route.

I purchased those about a year ago and they are nice. However, just using them alone will not cure the floppy ear. My plan is to put something inside that is stiff, like a piece of fiberboard, to keep them flat.

It's easy enough to cut the stitches that hold the two sides of the visor covering together. You can then remove the coverings to reinforce the floppy ear piece. I cut mine apart and installed a Homelink transmitter in mine to get rid of the garage opener remote. I was able to handstitch it back closed and it looks like a factory installation and works that well, too. You can buy a Homelink unit on e-bay for not much more than $20. Easy to install.
