Default Tire Help For Autox

I know this topic has been beaten to death, I apologize.

Been looking for a set of tires for an 04 Z, I will primarily use it for street adventures (deals gap is 20 minutes away) but will autox it 4 times a year. I am looking for a good tire for traction, but no one makes them in any sizes apparently. So currently I am debating the Rival S in 315/30/18 rear and 275/35/18 front. I would run square setup but as much street duty as it will see I don't want to kill my fenders.

Will be on 18x10.5 Speedline Knockoffs

I would love to be able to use the stock wheels, but no one makes a tire that fits apparently.

Any help would be great

Have you looked at the NT05s? I really liked them for Autocross and occasional road course events.

I'm currently running RE-71Rs and I love the hell out of them. I'm on Forgestar 18/19s so I run a 275/35/18 and a 305/30/19.
I'm about to switch to a square setup on 4X 18" Speedlines with Rival S 315s.
I pretty much exclusively autocross my Z and occasionally take it out for weekend drives or to work. Each autocross event for me is either 1-2 hours away, and I was worried about it wearing down the tires but from what I've read I'll likely heat cycle them out before I wear the tread down. Since I don't daily it or drive it too much outside of a race I decided to spend my money to get the most amount of grip I could for my class.

Before that I had Hankook Ventus V12s and they were a really good all around tire. I was about 2 seconds behind the leaders in my autocross classes (AS and CAM) until I got my Bridgestones. When I get my Rival S square setup I'll put the V12s back on the Forgestar rims and possibly trailer the 315s to events.
I've read some good things about the RS3s as well from a couple of Corvette guys that daily theirs. It's not as good as the RE-71 or the Rival but it's not bad. If you only autocross a few times a year you'll likely get more miles out of that style of tire, but you likely won't be super competitive when you race. Really depends what you're looking for and how much you're looking to spend/save.

I run the Rival in 295/35r18 at all four corners on Speedlines. No concerns of fender damage, unless maybe you mean some extra rock chips from the wider front tires. The Rival in this size has basically been unavailable for over 2 years, but my insider information tells me they just had a production run of them. Hopefully they'll be available again, soon! My fronts are just about worn out!

When I got rid of my Goodyears on my Z, I went to Vredestien Ultrac Sessanta’s which I loved. Of course I had to get 275 for the front but stayed with the Speedline wheels. Never thought about going bigger in the rear, but I don’t have that car anyway. Those tires are no longer available. I guess my point is you could keep your wheels and go with 275-295 for sure, but if there’s wider stuff for the real, go for it!

I would love to have 295 Rivals all around that would be perfect. Any idea when they may show up?

With the above combo 275/315 it is showing .8% smaller rear tire, is that going to screw up the TC/ABS system?

Figure it out by inch dimensions. You need the difference front to rear, according the factory to be from .5-1.4 inches

The rear tire would be .14 inches shorter than the front 25.58 vs 25.44

Or according to tirerack 25.6 to 25.5

Will this cause any issue?

If you want to be competitive I would run the BFG Rival "S". These are the only tires to run in the warm weather especially if you're a two-driver car. Bring a spray bottle to cool the tires down in the warm weather between runs.

What, who did you check with? Try Phil's Tire Service, Jackson Motorsport Group, or Tire Rack. I'm assuming that you're considering 18's all the way around. Get away from the 17's.

Yes, I am talking about the Rival S tires. You'll be glad that you did. The Falkens are supposed to be out this year with their new and improved tire but, we'll see if their tires can run in the heat or not.

Yeah I just picked up the car last weekend, grabbing the wheels sunday (they are +56 but I dont think that should be a problem) and needing to get tires ASAP, first event is March 21ish and I would like to get them scrubbed in first.

According to my information which may not apply to someone who autox’s A lot more than I, the front is supposed to be the smaller diameter tire.
