Getting ready for spring here sooner than later in the north east. Want to install Compliance Parts skip shift eliminator. How easy is that task? Anyone care to give me a general over view of the install?

In your owners manual it states under what conditions the CAGS (Computer Aided Gear Selection) feature kicks in. If you drive under those conditions and do not have the skip shift eliminator installed, you will definitely notice when CAGS takes over since you will only be able to shift 1-4 instead of 1-2. If you do have the eliminator installed, you will be able to do a 1-2 shift under all driving conditions.
And to the OP, the skip shift eliminator is very easy to install. The directions that come with it are clear and as long as you can get the car up in the air a bit (floor jack works fine), the job should only take a few minutes. Just be sure to zip tie the disconnected wire up out of the way to keep it off hot components.
I always get confused when I see this question asked. It appears there are two different companies that make a shift eliminator.
I know I bought mine from Richard at Compliance and I do not recall jacking the car to install it. IIRC it was all done in the battery area.
From the Compliance website:
The CAGS-SKIP makes 3 connections to your Corvette:
1.) A fused connection to the positive post on the underhood fuse panel.
2.) A terminal that replaces an OEM terminal in a connector that disables the skip-shift solenoid.
3.)A CAGS-SKIP wire spliced to a wire located beneath the underhood fuse panel.
The CAGS-SKIP installation DOES NOT require raising your Corvette and crawling underneath to access the connector on the transmission!
The CAGS-SKIP is easily installed under the hood, next to the battery.
I installed mine in 10 minutes on my lowered C5 without having to jack it up. Just come in from the rear exhaust you can see it plain as day. What a stupid option from GM.
At the time, the GM engineers, under a stringent timeline, were desperately trying to wring every .1 mpg increase to pass CAFE standards. They figured a few less rpms here and there might push it over the top. They did what they had to do. It least it's an easy fix. I used the one that plugs into the transmission. As o2bnkc says, it takes almost as long to jack the car up as it does to install the part. Only thing is the dashboard light still comes on reminding you when to shift.

Yep! They avoided the government's gas guzzler tax on the Corvette by doing that.

You must have a different kind of gizmo than mine. As I remember, I think I just plugged it in the side of the transmission. Nothing else.

I went to Radio Shack (when they were open) and got a 20-ohm resistor and shoved in in the socket - total cost about $0.20. Did the same on my '95 Z-28...
I got my 14’ M7 with 14k miles delivered by Carvana. They had a 7 day 400 mile return period. Best way I thought to check the car out (to make sure she was good to keep ) was immediately get it in the air and change all the fluids and inspect what I could. The CAGS eliminator was $18 so I popped it in while I was down there.
Sure you can drive around the skip shift but why bother if it’s easy enough to disable. For me it often kicked in when I needed 2nd gear the most, usually in larger intersections where I was making and left with oncoming traffic and I wanted to be in second to scoot and not fourth.
IMHO This And the MGW shifter should be first mods everyone does. Even if you are hard set on keeping your car stock, these are quality of life items that can be removed easily if needed.
