How much do Lithium Ion batteries go for these days that can work in the C5? Can't wait until prices on these continue to drop, that way we can save some major weight and room in the engine bay.

I live in the South and it can get HOT down here. Hot equals potential fire and I'm not sure I trust the LI as of this time. Thanks anyway.
I have also heard about problems with Optima batteries - it seems no middle ground with them, people either swear by them or swear at them.
I have used Deka AGM batteryies before in other project cars/toys with good result, but that was trying to minimize the size and weight. My current WalMart wet cell is fine. I just want to change to an AGM to be safe this the critical items in and around/under the battery in the C5. The $132 price (with core charge) for the Rural King (by Exide) AGM is very tempting. Otherwise you are talking $210-225 (with core charge) for a Group 78 AGM battery from one of the auto parts chain stores. Now if you have a 25% off on-line coupon to one of those auto parts chain stores, that may be the tipping point.
Not sure it this has been posted before, but it's interesting reading;
AC Delco is a good battery. I have had nothing but AC Delco and have NEVER had a battery issue. Leakage, however, has always been on my mind and I have always had a absorbent mat underneath the battery.
I just decided for my own peace of mind that I would switch to an AGM battery this spring.
If I end up not going with an AGM battery, AC Delco would be my battery of choice!
'97-00 Group 78 side post wet cell
'01-03 Group 75 side post AGM
'04 Group 86 top post wet cell
Now the '97-00 models can switch to an aftermarket Group 78 AGM if desired. Not sure if the larger Group 78 AGM will fit into the '01-03 battery tray that was designed for the slightly smaller Group 75 AGM battery.

I also think that for '04 you can upgrade to the slightly larger Group 75 top post.
I just purchased a Duracell AGM from Sams Club, side post 74/78 =$149, they also have a dual post(top & side) AGM 78 = $129
made in usa and meets all the vet specs in reserve capacity: 120 & cca: 775
My old one lasted 6 years.

Okay the Duracell is made by Deka/East Penn. Nice price by the way!
Thanks to everyone, I have decided on an Interstate MTP 75 AGM 700CCA for very good price of $130. I have had good luck with interstate and this one looks original (no green top). Ha to order because they only stocked the 600CCA. Will let you know how well it works out.

Sorry to bump an old thread but wanted to hear how this battery worked out for you? I'm about to purchase a new battery for my 02 with side posts and Costco has the interstate MT7-78 for about $100 OTD. Might scoop this up tomorrow.
My battery just died so i'm in the market. AGM technology looks like the way to go.
Looks like Advance auto, Auto ZONE and AC delco have the same manufacturer.
Based on the input here, I'm rolling the dice and up-sizing to the 78 as I cant find a 75 AGM in the Delco
