Halo led tailights hyperflash question. Help please
What's up guys. Strange thing happened today. I've had led halo mod tailights for almost a year now. Worked fine from day one. No hyperflash harness needed. I haven't installed any other led lights since. Today when I put on only the left turn signal I get hyperflash. I knocked the housing a bit and it seemed to return to normal flashing. But then started hyperflashing again. Hazards flash normal. Only left turn signals hyperflash. Front 3157 bulb seems ok. Might be loose or need replacing. Couldn't check today. I'll check tomorrow. But does anyone know why out of the blue this happened ? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Can't say for sure, but similar happened to my car. I wrote it off as one of the resistors (or some electrical doo-dad) in the taillight going bad, thus triggering a hyperflash.
I think some halo lights came with electronics to eliminate hyperflashing so they could be "plug and play".
I had to get a hyperflash harness and no issues at all since.

Try swapping the right taillights for the left and see if they still hyperflash. You do not need to install them fully - just plug in the light to the harness.
Before I installed my hyper flash relay I had that happen once. It was literally a matter of ensuring the connections were secure for me. I noticed that on the hyperflash side, one of the two turn signals wasn't actually working.
Get the relay, it solves the problem entirely and you can throw in some LED switchbacks up front after, with no hyperflash.
I just had the exact same issue with my LED Halo tails. Only on left turns, I would get occasional hyperflash. For me, it actually seemed to be related to ambient temps so i'm thinking the heatsink / resistor on one of the tail lights was failing. I didn't want to spend the money / time to get a harness, so I installed a generic set of chinese LED resistors, this fixed the problem completely. I actually just zip tied the new load resistors to the heatsink on the back of the tail light. Not the most elegant solution, but it cost $8 rather than 10x for a hyper flash harness.

I had the same problem years ago...went to the LED lights and halo tail lights...worked great for a while...then just like you...no warning...hyperflash. Got the hyperflash harness which also allowed me to run LEDs up front without the PITA of doing resistors and splicing....no issues in over 4 years.

A hyperflash harness is less than $40, not $80, solves the issue of a bad hazard switch, which is about $35, and allows you to run LEDs in the front instead of halogens, which tend to crack the housing at a cost of $50-80.

the thing about the hyperflash relay for $40 is that it also eliminates the problematic hazard switch.

I had the resistors and they were fine for about a year. Then out of the blue I started to get the hyperflash. I took off the resistors and put on the harnesses and all is GREAT,

good point, I'm in Canada, and by the time they get to my door, I was finding them $80-100 cdn, I should have clarified. If you can share a link to a harness for $30, I'll pick one up.
