Do you mean where the top rests on the lid? My top was rubbing on the lid wearing the paint. I bought 1/2 x 1/2 inch high density foam self adhesive weatherstriping at Menards. I applied it on the bow right up tight against the OEM weatherstrip. It lifted the top 1/8 inch just enough to clear the lid. It cost 6 bucks, you never know it's there and it doesn't leak.
Yes, that's the place.
I'm not having rubbing problems, I just need to replace the worn out and torn rubber seal. The OEM seal price is just outrageous. What you did might help, but I'd like a wider rubber seal.
Thanks.

They had different sizes. Try Home Depot or Lowes. Or you can get bulk weatherstrip at online parts vendors.
I don't need weatherstripping yet but I will figure out something before I pay the kind of money they want for replacement parts. Jesus!
There are hundreds of cross sections of rubber weatherstripping available out there. Surely something will work.

I hear that! I found some 1/4" x 24" x 60" HD foam on eBay for $11 and glue is about $10. I think I can cut and make my own for that.

I would look for the self adhesive weatherstrip. Gluing it could make one heck of a mess. Mine was self adhesive and it has not moved in the 5 years I installed it.

I want a full face seal since I'll be removing all the old seal. That will probably be a strip about 2" wide. I just feel it need to be a cut, contoured seal strip. A wide straight piece will not make the curves easily. Your narrow strip was not a problem. I think the glue can be applied so as to not make a mess.
