Should I buy a rebuilt title Corvette?

There have been cars turned-in that were inside flood zone areas that never saw water, but their owners wanted out and the insurance companies just trucked them away and wrote checks........
If it was actually in flood waters, it depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you care about all the nannies working correctly, then forget about that car. To me it is a $5k car with a good body. I would do aftermarket ECM if/when issues arise and lose all the factory stuff and have a good, cheap car. Would have to re-work the dash so you ahve some sort of gauges. No clue for HVAC stuff, may have to figure that out on your own.

I wouldn't buy a rebuilt just for resale value and trouble selling later on. I espically would not buy a c5 with any water damage. These can be a electrical nightmare without any further help from water damage. There are a bunch out there for sale. Be patient.

Obviously your decision to make, but if it were me, I would not buy a flood damaged vehicle or any vehicle with a rebuilt title - too many nice ones out there with no blemished history.

I would buy that particular vette for $2500 or maybe 3 k.
A unclean title with water damage?? You will have a difficult
time frying to resell it. As time goes on you will find plenty
of problems related to water damage.

IMHO, water damage is never repairable. There are so many electronic components and connections that it would be nearly impossible to say everything has been repaired. You could own the car for a year with nothing going wrong, then the water gremlins can wake up and you could have a money pit or something that would be hard to sell. And the title would still say "Rebuilt".
You didn't say what your budget is for a C5, but I would suggest that you look at cars that didn't go thru any sort of disaster like flooding.

What year and what did you pay back then?
If you can steal one it's worth the risk at some point....this is not the case with this one.
There are many C5's worth buying before this one....JMO.
Fly in drive out.

Drifting
This is the biggest concern with any "rebuilt" or "salvage" status titles; often many insurance carriers will either give you a runaround with a specialized coverage or in known instances not actually insure the car at all. It's something you would need to confirm with your carrier before you purchase a car.
Why are you planning on buying a car to sell in such a short period of time? A C5 is not a car you buy and then re-sale quickly; you're going to take a hit in resale.
