Default My C5 may be lowered?

Eating lunch at a Dairy Queen I see a black C5 park 2 spaces from my C5, from inside the DQ I could see the space between top of front tire to bottom of inner fender is wider on other car.

Was going to talk to him and look closer after eating, but he got his blizzards to go.

Had the car 15 years, maybe previous owner lowered it, it sure has to be babied over dips and speed bumps.

I might like to raise it back to factory height to gain clearance getting in and out of driveway and neighborhood.

Does lowering or raising change the alignment?

Yes, it is recommended to have the car realigned after adjusting the height.

Get the alignment checked if you raise/lower the car.

Found a white one at harbor freight, it's higher too.

Yep, yours looks to be lowered a bit. Not extreme, but a little bit.

A test to see if its lowered or not. Jack one of the front sides up and leave it there for a few minutes, then slowly lower it down. Measure the clearance. If your shocks are good it should be raised up like normal and after driving a bit it will lower back to the dropped height. If you raise it and then lower it and it drops back down to the same, your shocks may be worn out.

Yours looks lowered about an inch, same as mine. I like the look much better than stock height. I cut the rubber cushions off the height adjusters to get mine down. Never checked the alignment after I did mine, but tire wear is just fine.

They sure look nicer when lowered, but I'm sure that also makes them scrape bottom a lot more too...

I'm lowered and the front spoiler does hit on low dips!

It's not like you don't have to worry in a "stock height" C5....you still have to be careful where you drive. I believe "stock height" is a range anyway. It's what I've seen on threads here before and it seems to make sense to me as its doable with stock bolts and no other mods.

I like the gap to be at maximum the same all the way around the wheel. It looks strange to have a larger gap on top in a low riding sports car IMHO.

Your's may be lowered, but another factor would be your spring rate on yours compared to the other ones you posted. I was fully lowered on stock bolts on my original FE1 suspension, and the minute I changed my springs to FE4 (Z06) the car gained almost an inch in height...just something to consider.
