I just ran across an ad for a 2000 Convertible with only 15,700 miles on it. I have been looking for a few weeks but all were too expensive and higher mileage. I went to see this car and could not believe it. It's a new car. I bought it instantly. Since the OEM tires are original, I'm leery of a Vette with 18 year old tires, so even though they look fantastic I'm replacing with Michelin Pilots. Since I'm an old retiree, I decided to take the risk of trading the Run Flat option for a smoother ride. Hope that doesn't bite me in the ***. This is my second Vette. I had an '85 back in my first mid life crisis. Hope to learn a lot from you guys.

Advice from an "old retiree" as well. On most low mileage garage queens the brake fluid never gets changed. Do a brake fluid flush if original. Change coolant as well if there's any question on it's age. Good call on the non run flats! My car is a 1999 with 63000 miles. My A/C would not blow through the center vents. I found a mouse nest under the battery tray. They had chewed through the hard plastic vacuum hoses! My tire pressure sensors were original and were giving wrong readings at times. They will need to be re synced to the replacement tires or replaced if the batteries are weak in them. The sensors are the same from 1997 to 2000 Then they changed in 2001. IMO ALL fluids should be changed unless service history proves otherwise. Great find!

Get the non runflats. One thing that surprises me is that NRF’s are fine on a Z with an inflator kit, but people get worried about NRF’s on a base coupe.
I had the same setup on my challenger.
Get the Slime inflator kit, about $50 hi Walmart. Basically the same kit as what came with a C5Z. The new Slime does not affect TPM’s as well.
My ‘02 was a one owner, and I replaced ALL fluids a while ago.

Congrats on your new super low mile Corvette. Definitely replace the tires and all the fluids and filters if there are no maintenance records.
Those RF's must be as hard as a solid tricycle tire! I'm changing out my original 2002 sixteen year old 16200 mile factory tires Monday with a set of Toyo Proxes T1 Sport. Pulled the wheels off and got them cleaned up Saturday.
Enjoy your second mid life crises!
