2004 Lemans Blue clear coat peeling
Yep my C5 is affected by the inferior clear coat. I hear that this is a well known issue for the C5 and the factory has covered fixing it. Does anyone here have experience getting the factory to cover the defect?

Sorry, but on a 14+ year old car, good luck getting GM to cover any repairs. But if you can get them to fix it, let everyone know.

Check with a dealer, but I have my doubts. If you want a very reasonable price and quality job on a repaint, contact Bromley's Corvettes. Tell Doug that Chris from YouTube sent you.
They just repainted my front bumper for $500 and it looks showroom quality. I got 2 other quotes from Phoenix area shops that were both around $2,000.

fyi I have the same car and no clear coat problems but my car is not in the sun.

My '99 had really bad clear coat separation. It was fine below the belt-line, but every panel above the belt-line had at least 5% of the area peeling or bubbling. I took it to my painter/friend 13 days ago. After a week of disassembly, stripping and preparation, my C5 was completely painted and clear coated. It didn't even look like the same car when I saw it today. The total repaint may be the best money I have spent on this car. I hope to get it home tomorrow.
Corvettes aren't supposed to look like they have leprosy, and now mine does not!!!
