Update: I found some ideas by googling, 2 of which included hood shake/contact with the contact bumpers at the rear of the hood and windshield wipers not snug(the actual shaft has play). I did take care of the hood, but will do the wipers tomorrow if it’s not raining.
If I had to further elaborate on the sound I would think it’s more of a ‘larger’ object moving around rather than smaller items like wires or smaller components. I’m hoping one of those I’ve mentioned might be the one. The hood bumpers did require significant adjustment on both sides. I did check the head light housings and there didn’t seem to be movement.

Turn your HVAC "flappers" through all the positions and see if it changes at all. I have a dash rattle in my old 4runner and I'm pretty sure its an HVAC flapper - flapping around...

Do you mean the ones behind each grill? How do you get to them?
My noise is a ‘heavier’ noise, not one that shows up on light undulations. A series of winter pothole repairs brings it to full volume!!

I am sure you've eliminated my next suggestion. When I get a similar sound many times it has been my visor incorrectly snapped into the headliner receptacle, or the piece has broken off one of the tabs. It is amazing to me how the sounds that irritate the most have the incredible ability to travel and seem like they are coming from somewhere else. I have had those visor clips break and cause a incredibly annoying noise that seems like it is coming from the dash or lower. If you need one let me know. You can't buy just one, so I had to buy a bag of them. It was 5 or 10 pieces, not sure but I have extras somewhere in my garage.

Thanks Jeff. I’m driving it for the first time in a long time today, so I’ll be looking for that.

Just for giggles, check the airbag screws on the steering wheel... I went thur this and found that one of the brackets that holds the airbag was broken. Just by placing a finger on our lift a corner up and see if the noise goes away. I found it by accident.

Mark.

The person taken with you should be a woman...two guys doing this in a Vette may look a bit strange...

Folks, I'm terrified to state this because I believe the "Rattle Demons" are listening, but I think I fixed it. I tightened the hood bumpers, put some silicone on the tops and not a peep the entire ride today, including the 'pothole repair hell' stretch near my house.
Can't tell you how relieved I am!!
