Default Shocks

I've got a 2004 LeMans commemorative with Selective ride control found out both rear shocks are leaking need replaced. Dealer wants $800 a shock found shocks on RockAuto for $391. After talking to mechanic at dealership he can bypass The Selective ride control option and have regular shocks installed. My question is has anybody had this done and were you happy with your decision.thanks

Many posts about people reolacing their F55 shocks with C6Z06 and being happy about it. I wouldn't give it up on a daily driver, but that is partially because I can afford the expense.

If you do remove your system, I've been looking for the computer harness and would be willing to buy it off of you. Selector switch would be nice too but unnecessary.

There have been a number of owners that have deleted the F55 shocks from the computer and replaced them with aftermarket regular shocks - mainly due to the cost to replace the F55 shocks. The ones that have done it seem to be happy.

Thanks for reply, I guess after looking at the price of buying four new decent shocks if I eliminate this feature on car would not be that much less than just keeping this feature and buying two rear shocks that are leaking. The front ones looked fine. I really hate to eliminate any feature the car has. Didn't think the shocks would start leaking being the car only has 11,500 miles. I guess that goes to show anything can happen at any time.
