I'm sorry to bother you all, but just wondering about c5 gas leaking? we purchased this 2004 back in march(2018), with only 14,936 miles on it! since the weather was been crazy, I haven't really been able to mess with all the buttons inside the vehicle, so today I took advantage of the mild weather ,drove it around for a little bit, stopped and put gas in it, (full tank) since the used dealership only put an half of tank of gas in it ? I sat in the driveway playing with all the buttons, etc, leaving the car running, i kept smelling gas fumes, so I turned car off still smelling gas fumes, before I covered it back up, I looked under the driver side of car and noticed a puddle, stuck my finger in it and it was gas!!!, so what's going on? is there a recall on this? if not why not? this car has no miles on it, I'll try and post a picture later, but couldn't sign in with my phone, tks, I really do appreciate any help I can get! what could have happened if I drove into a shopping center parking lot, with a just thrown down cigarette in that spot?
If you bought it at a dealership, I would bring it back and see what they will do. If you bought it from a private owner I would think it's highly unlikely that they didn't know about the problem.

I hope the dealership you got it from gave you some kind of warranty...It is totally dangerous...get it fixed asapIt is a $2500 fix...my '04 was made in April 2004..just after they fixed the problem...whew...
with 8VETTE7 . My 04 had around 14,000 miles when I had the Cross Over problem. My car was with in the above VIN mentioned above. The ten year special warranty already expired but my repair was covered by my Aftermarket extended warranty and done at GM dealer and cost was 2300.00 . If your not familiar with fuel system Here is picture of tanks out of car. Pic two is part that was cracked. pic 3 was were fuel was under car driver side below fuel door.
Here are some pictures of my gas tank, dealership broke the fuel pump, but at no cost to me! 2 year warranty on parts, another thought, would it be wise to purchase on of them extended vehicle warranty's? With vehicle, that only has 15,000 miles on it? It's not going to be a every day driver, day off, date night car.
This is good info to know if you are looking to buy an '04. Good luck to OP on getting yours repaired. A good dealership may give you a break on getting it done considering the circumstances or you will just have to chalk it up as experience tax.
My 04 Z06/Z16, an early production car at #165 of 2025, had this issue...fortunately covered by GM. I noticed the smell in the garage after a fill-up but never saw a leak. I recall the initial repair bulletin called for removal of the entire rear-end but a local dealer with a well known and respected Corvette Tech was able to do it by removing only the drivers side rear wheel and tub. She's been fine since.
As others said, take it back to where you purchased and keep us posted.
I bought my 02 with 20k miles. My tech, a vette owner, said not to bother with a service contract and even though I used to sell them I heeded his advice and glad I did. She's about to turn 100k and any work that's been done was all wear and tear which isn't covered.
