Default Targa Top

What material is the targa top? Lexan? I just discovered mine has a 4 inch crack running from the center of the back edge towards the front. Right where the rear latch is. I know I need to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it from spreading but I want to find out what the material is before I start drilling. Then I'll need to fill and or glue the crack, sand it down and polish it out I guess. I've been thinking about wrapping the top anyway. Maybe this is a good time to do it. Or I might paint it if I can figure out what paint will work on that top. Thanks!

Yes, it is plastic, and I believe lexan. Not sure I would tackle repairing a crack, but that is your call. There is a great thread on here about refinishing one with great success. I think I would either buy a cheap used one that needs refinishing or one in great condition.

Check in the C5 Parts for Sale section and see if you can pick up a used top in great condition for a very good price. They come up for sale often.

I have some files on refinishing the Lexan targa top and if you would like a copy, just PM me your e-mail address.

[QUOTE=theoldmusicman;1597077110]. I've been thinking about wrapping the top anyway.

I would think twice about wrapping it. Gasses are released from Lexan which in turn can create bubbles under the wrap. I have no info on painting one.
