Default 1/4 mile estimate

Hey guys,

I have a 2000 A4 and I’m trying to estimate my 1/4 mile time, and I’m not tying to sift through the quick list.

Current mods:
K&N CAI
80mm BBK Throttle Body
BBK SSI Intake Manifold
LG Street Series LT Headers with catless x-pipe
SLP Loudmouth Axleback
1.82 Comp Gold Rockers

I have a Tick Stage 2 Blower Cam Kit, a Yank PAS 3800 stall converter, and I plan to hand port my 853 heads when they’re off. I also just ordered an RPM Diff with 3.73 gears and I’m ordering a Level 2 4l60e from Performabuilt next week.
Ill have NT05s on C5Z wheels tomorrow.

I just wanted to know know what you guys estimate my 1/4 mile time to be, I’m thinking low 11’s high 10’s.
Also, is anybody running a similar setup?

You are insanely optimistic with your times.

Stock C5 MN6 is good for about 13 flat in the quarter. A4 cars probably .3 - .5 higher. With all of the mods you list I would guess low 12s...maybe, if everything just works together perfectly, high 11s.

Keep us posted...

Maybe high 11s with all the mods. But only one sure way to find out.

Slow by today's standards. You will likely run mid 12's with good traction.

Not sure where 10's came from.

Also curious... since you mentioned getting a blower cam... did you neglect to mention having 10 to 12psi of boost on the car when you're done? That would alter expectations.

I'm curious to get mine to the track this summer to find out.
Stock 99 LS1
trunion fix
BTR springs / pushrods
Fast 92 (added it before I decided to boost, or I'd have a nice cheap LS2 intake)
LS7 tb
A&A P-1sc 3.85" pulley @ ~9.8psi
ECS Tune (Doug is quasi-local and tuned it conservatively, not aggressively)
Stainless Works headers / x-pipe
Borla Stingers
Alky meth kit on single 10# nozzle.
McLeod RST
Fidanza lightweight

Not trying to hijack your thread. I'd wager the car on my street RE-11 305s might be worth a mid 11. I may be far from the mark though.

Originally thought you wrote blower, not just blower cam. Even at that I figured optimistic on 295 rear tires. 10's is quick...

I'm projecting mid-12s to high 11s. A wide range but there are wide variables.
What is your drag strip experience? What condition is the track in? Temp/humidity the day(s) of your runs? Quality of the fuel? Do you have an air compressor that will allow you to lower tire pressure for drag racing, but air the tires back up for your trip home? Et cetera, et cetera.
Remember - the clock does not start until you break the lights. For now, you're racing against yourself, not the person in the other lane. Worry more about good launches, not bogging down, and maintaining a good line down the track. Worry about a good tree later.
Enjoy and let us know how you do.

Everyone thinks their car with a few mods is crazy fast till they run it down the track ... all of the stuff up above comes into play. The LS had alot of hype a few years ago... I tracked with a local C5 auto owner.... Blackwing, XS headers, BTR stage 2, 3800 stall, 3.42 gears ...this was his "500hp low 11 second car" until he ran 12.4-12.5's in it and dyno'd at 382whp....

Well my car has ran a 13.0 at Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis on a hot day and that was with me spinning through first on stock tires. I don’t understand how ported heads, cam, 3800 stall, and 3.73 gears and a tune won’t get me at least into the 11’s.

Interesting, my car with the current mods posted ran a 13.0 and made 391whp on a double roller mustang dyno. I’m interested to see how it plays out.

I know it’s slow. If you’re not running at least 9’s in today’s day and age you’re slow. I’ve had the car run 13.0 on a stock tire spinning through first. If ported heads/cam, 3800 stall, RPM 3.73, and NT05’s only get me 1/2 a second faster in the 1/4 I’m going to have an emotional breakdown.

Also, there’s “Cam Only” C5’s that have run 10.9s. That’s where my optimism comes from.

I doubt your in the 10's at all. I'd say high 11's for sure, but depends on your elevation too. My 05' GTO with a blower, supporting mods and 520whp/500wtq ran low 11's. But that was at sea level and with mickey T slicks. It had more in it, but I broke one of the axles. Don't go to the track with expectations or your soul will be crushed. I remember going to the track back then expecting to run 10's. I put in work to get those 11's on an M6 car.

A stock only with just a cam??? Someone is LYING to you
I would expect high 11s to 12s .. You could have 1000 HP, and without
supporting mods, you'll be NO Faster...
Suspension, Tires, Traction, ETC matter just as much as HP.
Be ready to upgrade your entire driveline IF you do get it to hook and
be in the low 11s. Weakest link will always show itself

The term “Cam Only” in today’s racing community means just a cam and supporting mods. No nitrous, no forced induction, etc.

There is a “Cam Only” C5 in the 10’s. Look it up on YouTube

This is the sole reason alot of guys skip heads/cam combo on a C5 now and go straight to forced induction. After everything is said and done one could have a spent a little extra coin and make way more power with the ease of adding more. Not to mention the car essentially drives stock until you are on it and dyno/track numbers never disappoint.
