FRC/Z06 trunk divider (noise reduction)
What's the cheapest price on one of these... I figured one of these plus some of that ensolite stuff cut by myself would be the most cost effective way to cut down rear end noise.
I have B&B bullets and michelin pilot super sports combined are quite noisy and annoying... as much as I enjoyed the car before, it's become annoying on longer drives...
Help a brother out...
I can't find anything cheaper but this which sucks:
C5 CORVETTE TRUNK PARTITION FOR THE FRC
https://www.southerncarparts.com/cor...tion-p-30.html
Why so pricey for a piece of wood and carpet... and to top it off I am in Canada... so shipping/customs will kill me too alongside our crappy dollar...

Another Canadian here. Don't really get why you're complaining though; you don't appreciate paying $320 for items listed at $160?
When I see $160 I simply double it and that's pretty close. Shipping, import duty, exchange rate, taxes...
Shipping alone... I had considered buying some Ebay seats last year. Around $300 and free shipping to the US. How much to ship to Canada I stupidly ask? $300. Yes seriously.
There is a free pattern on this forum if you look. If you're handy just DIY

I wouldn't know how to post a DWG file, but PM me with your email address and I'll email you what I got from another forum member.
I have considered making one from CNC router cut thin alum plate.

Also considered making a formed unit to push the bottom against the ridge behind the seats, thereby making full use of the trunk space. Maybe I should get off my keister.
Here's the JPG of the pattern.

Melting Slicks
15+ yrs ago I purchased just the foam cutout about 2" thick. Since I was heavily into autocrossing/TT/HPDE, I did not like the added carpet/logo's because of the increased cost. It is still in there today and serves the same purpose. With black interior you do not readily see the dark grey foam and greatly reduces the sound. Back then it was about $48 shipped from one of the mainline Corvette retailers.

Download free 2D CAD software such as Draft Sight, then download the free partition template at this link:
http://redshift.homestead.com/files/...ontemplate.dwg
Print out the partition template at a full size 1:1 scale. Cut out the template on paper, lay it over a piece of thick foam or plywood (I used 3/4" plywood for its heavier sound insulating properties).
Trace the shape of the partition onto your base material with a sharpie. Grab a jigsaw and cut out your partition. Test fit it in your car, remove any material as necessary.
Wrap it in black felt fabric available at your local hobby/sewing store (Jo-Ann Fabrics, etc). Staple the felt around the circumference so it isn't visible.
Fun Saturday project, and inexpensive.

Nice! Downloading draft sight (free 64bit version) and got the partition template. Someone emailed it to me earlier (thank you too!)
If I can get print a paper version, I can build a cardboard prototype, get ensolite foam and mdf and go from there.
I was wondering the partition does it block out the rear speakers or no? I'd like the rear to be completely sealed frankly... I am so so tired of the noise... I just want to enjoy my ride haha... and still hear the roar of the exhaust if I pull the windows down.
I definitely find DIY stuff fun, so looking forward to this.

I tried to print to letter 8x11 page format with 1:1 scale, i thought it would print multiple pages as cut outs, but it only printed one page :/

You will need a full size plotter, or print multiple smaller pages and then tape them together.

yeah thats what i was trying to do to print multiple smaller pages but i guess the settings are wrong, i picked 8.5x11, 1:1 scale, all geometry it prints one page with a part of it blown to 1:1 scale, but i dont get the remainder

Not sure, you'll have to figure out the print settings. Good luck.
