1200 miles round trip to Pigeon Forge and the Tail of the Dragon. Only issue I had was the gas tank pressurized to the point almost blew the cap out of my hand when I went to refuel . did this twice and then hasn't done it again . research says it has to do with purge valve or clogged line.
The Achilles ATR Sports were great on the road , hardly any noise form them .
In Kentucky and Tenn the gas has 10% alcohol , first fill up average was 25.5 dropped to 20 -22 after that .
Vette ran and handled great - enjoyed the drive - stayed in a cabin on a mountain - got to see some beautiful country - saw other Vette owners out enjoying thier rides

Picture is from The Tail of the Dragon
Noticed the screens on the front. Where did you get those? I really like the screen where the plate should be.
So you rate the low priced Achilles tires pretty good?
Great picture, by the way.
I say they are a great tire . reviews were very favorable , and the price plus free shipping . Ordered the rear tires from a different place free shipping and free road hazard included . my total for tires and mounting and balancing was 399 $.
For the type of driving I do they should last me a long time . ( 5 to 6 years )
Beautiful picture.
Yes, gas with 10% ethanol will lower your gas mileage but I didn't think it would do it that much The rule of thumb is 3-4% lower. So if you were getting 25.5 mpg you should only have dropped down to 24.6 mpg.

I was surprised when the mpg dropped so much . Around my home area it always gets 24 to 25 on longer drives . I will have to check it again once I get the rest of the southern gas ran out of it .
4 years ago on pretty much the same trip it averaged 25 . That trip still had the older plugs and wires .I just changed them about a month ago .

Looks like a great time. Hope to make the drive this fall. Great pic of your Vette.
Looks like you had a great trip. I love the pictures from Killboy. We have been making that trip for the last few years. The roads in that area are magnificent. If you go in the fall check your radiator regularly. After the first trip I made a screen and never had any more problems.
