If that is not a chop, no way I would pull a boat that size with a Vette. The car is not designed for pulling that much weight.

Is there any documented towing capacity for Corvettes?

The "little" Vette and the big boat reminds me of the old Mutt and Jeff cartoons!
(I guess that means I admit to being old).

Read your owners manual and then decide if you want to take the chance.

Owner's manuals are half written by lawyers implementing CYA measures. Though I would agree, that boat is way too big for a Vette. I would pull it with a Crown Victoria though.

The C5 wasn't really designed to tow anything. That doesn't mean you can't. Just that you may end up regretting it.

Or it just means that GM didn't bother to spend the time and money to see what it can safely tow, which in the case of a C5 is probably around 1000 lbs.

Fun car = Corvette (among others)
Boat hauler = truck (some other vehicles can, but I wouldn't with a bigger boat)
Never personally owned a boat (or a truck), so never had to worry about what to haul it with.

Same-ish wording in 2004 manual; "Your Corvette is neither designed nor intended to tow a trailer"

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

My son used to pull his JetSki behind his C5 and had no trouble at all, but a boat ? How do you even pull out of the launch ramp ?

Ummmm.....ok, that is the tail wagging the dog if you ask me. That is not only utter stupidity to tow something 2 or 3 times heavier than the vehicle you are towing with but dangerous and has accident written all over it, whether a vette is designed for or not to tow anything is secondary to the sheer stupidity of it.
