Have your cell phone handy as well as perhaps some emergency road service - either AAA or on your insurance policy just in case of a breakdown. And most of all, enjoy yourself and drive safely.
Do not drive through NYC or take the GW Bridge. Redirect to the Tappan Zee bridge and go 84E through CT to continue the drive. I'd go 84 all the way to the Mass Pike, up past Worcester etc.
The reason for avoiding NYC area is the horrible road conditions. Your suspension will thank you.

Really not true on I-95 (the main route).
But much can be said for traffic and/or the lack of it as going thru Tappan Zee Bridge and onto the Merrit (15)and back on track...
Shout out if you want to take a break and grab a cold one.
I just drove it twice in the last month. Once on vacation and once on a run to Baltimore to pick up car parts. Both times in a soft suspension Honda Pilot. Pot holes. Inconsistent leveling between road sections. Wavy pavement in braking zones. Occasional ruts. I drove it last Fall in the C5 with coilovers - firmer than factory for sure - and I have decided never to do GW again. Tappan Zee for life. Also the $15 toll to cross the GW seems excessive.
Depending on the time of day, TZ is faster anyway. I have sat in stop and go from the GW to Milford in CT and had it take 5 hours. Never a stop on TZ / 84.
Rt15 is a fun drive on a Sunday morning for C&C in new canaan. Not at all fun with traffic though. And now that they have cut down the awesome trees from NY to about Orange, it is a lot less scenic. Remember when the Sikorski bridge was iron grating? LOL. Fun times.
Edit: btw, a nod of respect to your login ID. And now I hear Ennio Morricone in my head...
When you hit the NH/Maine line get off the 95 and onto Rt 1. Stop at Bob's Clam Shack on the left just past Kittery Trading Post for lunch. Than continue up Rt 1.
One of the best parts is that one you get up into New England you can get hot lobster rolls. Not cold lobster like in a salad but a pound of hot butter dripping lobster in a big hot dog roll.
Best place = Lenny & Joes Fish Tale
As previously mentioned on drives like these AAA is your friend
All the advice here so far is good. The roads are pretty terrible up here after the winter, (they always are) So be ready for a lot of construction zones. We finally have temps in the 70's, so the scenery and conditions should be perfect. I can recommend anything you need, from great hotels, to cheap seafood joints on the water, or fine dining.
Enjoy the ride. Enjoy the open road... and most importantly? Enjoy your Corvette!!

Are you from Milford?
I am right on the other side of Sikorsky bridge.
And yes......amazing with how many accidents on the old damn bridge...yet no one ever sued for it being built wrong with the grating running in the wrong direction.
Riding a motorcycle across it...W T F
I had friends who took bikes across it. The thought of that on a wet surface going downhill.... nope.
I grew up in Wallingford. Dated a girl who lived right up from Sikorsky for a short time when I was working in Trumbull, but I'm up in South Windsor now.

The new bridge is very nice, and has a walk trail across.
No steel grid ...and yet it still remains a bottleneck even with the 3 lanes.
