Find a tire with the appropriate compound. You may have to go to a different rim size to find a tire to support your future horsepower level. Guys go 4.30 @ 170 mph in the 1/8th mile on 275 drag radials. Unfortunately, that particular tire compound is mostly on 15” tires. I used an 18” M/T drag radial on my car when it made 600 RWHP and it stuck pretty well
True, but how in the hell was that accomplished??!! No rubbing??
99.5% none. I have found a TEEENY rub mark on my brake duct up front, not through, just barely touched it. Also, at nearly full lock, for just a moment it'll touch the inner fender liner in the front bumper, but I'm also lower than stock. Under full abs activation and slight turning I've seen some mild evidence it touched the fender in a super light manner but, I didn't hear it or know it. I only saw it when I had the car on the lift and rotated my setup (the other beautiful part of having it).
18x11 Deep Concave Forgestar et53's on all four corners...best mod I think I've ever done to the car in terms of front end feel/grip. It's balanced the car like it should have been. Near 50/50 weight distribution, especially under acceleration, 50/50 tire distribution to go with it.
Like briefly stated above, each tire manufacturer you'd think would be consistent that if it's a 295, it's the same as everyones 295...that's not the case. My MPSS's I chose were due to the advertised 11.1" of contact patch but they get wider at the shoulder, so I placed them on 18x11's. The setup looks very good with a good shoulder, that looks balanced.
