Picked up a 2001 Light Pewter A4 vert, light oak times 2 about five weeks ago. Has 88k plus miles.
So far I have done new tires (free from dealer); had mechanic change trans, diff fluids and oil along with new sway bar links. Also installed new shift cable as a just in case.
Had drivers seat rebuilt.
Today I installed a B&B Bullet quad tip, earlier this week I installed Powerstop Z23 pads and rotors, painted calipers and cleaned/painted wheel barrels (light pewter). Few weeks ago installed that hyper flash cable to fix turn signal issues and Lloyds mats.
As background I had a 2000 vert, then a 2014 Z51, 2015 coupe and 2016 Z51 vert. Got tired of cleaning them all the time.
Now I have a well broken in driver.

I must admit I find posts like this very interesting. When I purchased my C-5, the lot was full of every generation of Corvette (C-1 through C-7) and I zeroed in on a high mileage (+97,000) 2001 C-5 convertible (only mine is a 6M). That was the car I took home with me. It looked good, drove well, had everything I wanted (and more than I needed) in a sports car and by my estimation represented the best value on the lot. Now, 6,000 miles later in 6 months, after a bit of TLC (new tires, new top and a few other little things), the car is "mine." I hope to keep it going for another 100,000 miles, 10 years or for as long as I can drive it (whichever comes first).
So those folks like you, who have owned later generations of Corvettes and then return to the C-5 (for whatever reason), reinforces that newer, is not necessarily better for everyone.
Personally, I'm of the view that the car that gets driven most, even it means getting dirty or even a bit of worn and torn in the process, is the car that is best enjoyed. So my hat is off to you! Happy trails to you... .

Funny you mention this. We are having a mildly heated, but entertaining conversation about that very topic in the C4 section.
