Default Car Transport

I'm going to be moving from northern Michigan down to the Phoenix area around the first of Sept. and am thinking about shipping my car down there and am looking for suggestions as to which company might be the best for this. Before everyone says to drive it down my self, I'll be driving our second car pulling a trailer with my ATV on it, the better half wants nothing to do with driving either vehicle unless there is no trailer behind her car and I'm not willing to pull anything with the Vette. I talked with one moving company and they wanted $2400 to move it on an open trailer and take 2 weeks to get it there, not what I'm looking for.

If you look at either of the Barrett-Jackson or Mecham websites, they might have links to the car carriers they use. Maybe send them an email and ask them.

Plycar was recommended to me; $2400 seems quite high for open trailer. I had a lot less for a quote from Okla to Maine enclosed trailer. Try to avoid brokers.

Unless I was very worried about the miles and roadworthiness of my Corvette (and I would not be), I'd ask a friend or family member to drive it and in return buy them lunch and dinner and pay their one way flight. I suspect anyone with a pulse and love of cars, would welcome the wheel time.

I just booked today with Roadrunner, yes they are brokers, but still got me the best rate. I just got a C7, so from California to Houston,Tx in a enclosed trailer was a little over $1500, open trailer $895. I've heard of a lot of horror stories about how bad the car looks when it arrives in a open one. I didn't want to skimp money on my C7, good luck with your search. L8R ZFLASH

I just used Roadrunner to get a Skyline I bought shipped from Florida to here in MI. Cost was right at $1000 and it was here in 3 days.

That is what I did to help move a vehicle (not a Vette) to my new state. I paid all expenses for 2 family members (even bar bills ) and it saved me $500 from having a hauler do it.

Plycar's fleet is all enclosed, and it will be more expensive to ship enclosed...We would NEVER ship a Corvette on an open rack....I know this because I drive for them.

Thanks to everyone that's replied, I will be contacting all the suggested carriers, still trying to convince the wife to drive one of the cars and I'll follow in the Vette, she might go for it if I ship the ATV with everything else and just have her drive her 300 without the trailer and me following her in the Vette.

2400 from Michigan should buy you enclosed transport and a week - not two. Try http://bjinterstate.com/ She's here in town and can either run it herself or sub it out - - have used her for several hauls both enclosed and opened.

And if you need a realtor or want to talk about the Phoenix area- shoot me a note.
