Amazing what updated corner lamps with LED bulbs and a different nose emblem did to my car. The non-50th Anniversary emblem with carbon overlays looks sooooo much more subtle and mean than the silver OEM unit. And the smoked corners really look perfect on it. Looks like a whole new car. Turned out much better than I thought it would, really.
Nice and restrained!
As you said, little changes can make a big difference.
I like the black carbon look for the emblem, but I have a black stripe there so it wouldn't have the same effect on mine.
I went with clears for the front corners on mine. But I never thought of smoking the night running light slot. Looks ok on blue. Not sure if it would be too much black or not on a black car like mine.
I had run switchbacks for a while.... but did not like them. I reverted to a proper bright orange LED and it looks very clean now. I may look to do the same with the night runners since they are white currently.
Now consider your brake lights. When I bought my car I got rear-ended by a guy at a light. No marks, but the guy wasn't paying attention or nodded off and nudged it. Well.... some bright LED brake lights ensure people stick back now. I opted not to correct the hyperflash and promote visibility / epilepsy for those behind me. The halo mod was easily done and looks good though I honestly would not have sought to change the rear lights if I had never been bumped.
My Euro tail lamps are modded. My body shop sanded off all the lettering, and then painted them with a tinted base coat and two coats of clear. Kind of a medium tint. Bulbs are LEDs. Here is a screen capture from a phone video I took at dusk with the lights on, and one turn signal on. They are very bright. The brake lights will blind you. Added a day picture so you can see the tint level.
The clear looks great, but be aware that since 1968 all front turn signals must be amber in color, meaning an amber bulb if you have clear glass. And FYI, according to Wikipedia, "There is some evidence that turn signals with colourless clear lenses and amber bulbs may be less conspicuous in bright sunlight than those with amber lenses and colourless bulbs.[73]".
And I like that front emblem, very subtle and clean.

Not to be Captain Obvious, but...duh. What color bulbs would you think clear lenses would have?

I appreciate the research assignment you have completed. Fortunately, I will be just fine...
