[Z06] What do you think of this ?

car is for sale locally. I have not gone down to see it yet. Allegedly it just needs new headlights, hood, front fenders, and driver door. Interior looks standard for an 80k mile car. Stock with exception being the exhaust. Car has a clean title. What would you pay?... The last thing I need is another Z06 but..

Why would you want that? How much is the asking price? Have you investigated the cost of replacement parts? And the carfax showing significant damage you have to disclose to future buyers? And any other damage you may not discover 'till later? Again, with so many good cars out there, why would you want that? How do you even do that kind if damage? And the owner or his insurance company won't fix that?

ive got a pristine blown Z already, but I sold my race cars. Thought this may be a track car or beater then sell. I have a price in my mind that would be feasible but wanted to get input. If it did come together I would put Radio Flyers stealth cannon headlights in it, widebody front fenders and add the widebody rears since I already have some others that need to be painted as well, along with the hood while the panels would need to get sprayed anyway.

I gave 4500 for my 98 with 119k. Non z06 of course. Not knowing a clutch and transmission replacement was in my imediate future.

They want $11995 for the car with 70K on it. Besides the items you mention it needs, I would imagine the front fascia needs either a repaint or replacement, depending on whether it has more than just scratch damage. And who knows what kind of additional damage you may find once you either look it over or start taking things apart. NADA clean retail is around $18K. This one doesn't come close to that condition. If you could get it for $9K or so (and that may be high), it might be worth the deal if there is no other damage, the car runs good and the car in fact has a clean title. Others may disagree, but I wouldn't pay any more than that. And you have to take into account what you could sell it for with the previous damage disclosed should you do that in the future.
That said, I would pass since you should be able to find a nice Z with no damage history for the same, a little more or perhaps even less than what you may have tied up in that car.
JMO here.

The rear wheel alignment looks tweaked. So figure it could need anything from a rear wheel, hub, both inner/outer tie rods, axle, and depending how hard it was smacked the differential side cover could be cracked (and maybe hurt the diff internally).
The car could have underbody damage.
Not a car I’d run from but you’ve gotta look it over good including on a lift.

All really good input! The number I had in my mind was 8 grand. I absolutely assume that this car would not be as simple a fix as it appears..when is it ever? The driver door looks riveted bolted on by the mirror location. If nothing else I'll take a look at it for curiosities sake. Is there anything else one should look at in particular short of it being on a lift?

With a car that needs repair, I always price in worst case scenario for the repair(s) plus the value of my time, deducted from the market value (which in this case is lower already due to the accident).

I looked at in person this morning. The car was dirty from sitting outside so it was tough to see paint condition. It almost looked like it was vandalized. Underbody looked ok from what I could see. What is confusing is the rear driver side wheel is defiantly very out of alignment. It was an auction car.

To me... I'd consider buying it only for a parts car if I could confirm the drivetrain was solid. Maybe $5-7K?

I've seen worse repaired to look flawless, but its still risky depending on what else could be wrong.
