[Z06] My Stereo is complete!!!!!
Alright, so here are some pics.
This first one is of the Alpine CDA-7897 headunit in the off position.
This second one is of the headunit turned on (and the angle is adjustable).
This third pic is of the custom fiberglass amprack/subenclosure with the sub grill in place.
Fourth pic is of the subenclosure without the grill, showing the JLAudio 10W7. Unfortunately, it's hard to capture this in a picture. The enclosure sweeps down like the sub is "sunken" into the box.
Fifth picture is a closeup of the Z06 emblem.
This sixth picture is a closeup of the custom switch panel that takes the place of the ashtray. One switch is to turn on the red neon that reflects off of the amps. The other switch is to enter codes into the Clifford alarm.
So, what do y'all think?
The door speakers were replaced with JLAudio 6.5 components. And the rears were replaced with JLAudio (4 inch I think).
Needless to say, I am very pleased with the results.
:D

A personal code is required to drive the car. You can also use the switch to enter the options menu of the alarm and change some of the settings (including whether or not you want it to require a personal code!).
Clifford also has a port that allows you to connect a laptop to change the settings.

Cost? hm. A good deal. I had some of the equipment already, so that helped. But the install/labor cost alone was a bit over 2000.
I opted for the non-CocaCola version. I don't drink any sodas anymore.

Can't say that I would bother changing the factory system in my Z06, but I do have an extremely serious Alpine multimedia system in my daily driven SUV. That system sports an in-dash widescreen monitor, TV, DVD, CD, 3 amps, and component speakers all over the car.
