I previously wired in my detector to my mirror. The wires have pin connections that plug in to the back of the mirror. They have pulled out. Now I am having trouble getting power back out. The mirror lights still work. Does anyone have some pics or video on making this connection on the back of the mirror? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I wanted to get a Valentine One radar detector for probably 15 years, never had a radar detector.
I drove by a cop that had something to his eyes, as he was hidden off the road looking at cars through it, at night, not far from there someone else was pulled over.
He was using both hands and it was square or rectangular, kinda reminded me of the toy as a kid where you put the wheel thing in that has pictures that you hold up to your eyes, click the button and it moves to the next picture.
I'm guessing the device he was using is laser or radar?

Radar detectors are useful for finding fixed speed cameras and some older "bolted to the cruiser" cameras. But, it's mostly laser. There are detectors that claim to pick it up, but mostly it's too late to react.
I don't know about tapping the mirror but I put my V1 at the top of the A Pillar where LEOs and thieves don't see it.
If I do get pulled over for something the visor hides it from an LEO looking in on the passenger side.

I used the info in this link to do mine years ago. FYI, Laser is not the norm, it's expensive and the LEO has to work hard to target you. KA the normal, I run into them everyday (3 vehicles, all running Escort 9500ix and all connected to the mirror for power). Escort 360 replaced the 9500ix (360d coverage). Only place I ran into Laser was in VA. Luckily, I was speeding too much.

I see why you don't want thieves to see, but why law enforcement, it's legal to own in your state?
Or is having one make one look guilty of being a speeder?

Well of course.
All the Cops are Criminals and all the Sinners Saints
IMO LEOs are more inclined to give you a ticket if they see you have a radar detector.
None have ever noticed it at the A Pillar even from the passenger side.
Also in my location you don't have a noticeable to others red light on below the mirror.
