In our quest for a C5Z we recently came across an 02 yellow vert, one documented owner, serviced yearly at Chev dealer, perf axle, power convenience, cd, A4, clean carfax, not een a scuff on the front air dam..... with 5915 miles on it. $17,500.
Thinking this is a heck of a deal that might hold me over till I find that Z.... or supercharge the thing and enjoy it. Comments? We previously had an 03 MSG vert and loved it.

Great low miles, but let's see...
Auto, no. Vert, no. If you're OK settling (you are Z searching) then only you can decide. Not a chance I'd buy it.

If you really want a Z, I would just wait until you find the right one for you. But that seems like one heck of a deal for the '02 vert, as long as it checks out OK. IMO there is nothing wrong with the A4 - I have had two manual tranny C5s and now my current one is an A4. I can have just as much fun with my A4 out on the road, including spirited driving, as I did with my manual equipped car (stock for stock). But everyone has their own opinions and feelings about driving so my advice is take the '02 out for a spin, put it through its paces, and see how well you like it.
I've owned both, two M6's and one A4. I'd prefer another manual, but the A4 just takes a milisecond more of forethought to be able to toss around. Traction control? Nope, thats what the brake and throttle are for.

That's an amazing price for an 02 with under 6k miles. I sold my 02 Vert for $18k with 10x that mileage...but was in show condition.
Grab it before someone else does...offer $16,500 then you could always buy it, give it a sweet detailing and put it up for sale asking $20,000...then use that extra cash to but your Z...
Ill just say this - if you like convertibles, you may not even care of the lesser HP once you drive down the road with the top down. If you are a track or race guy - then the Z is best for you. Good Luck!
