If you go to a car show, there is always one car there that is better prepared for showing than anyone else?
If you go to a cruise-in, there is always someone there that has a car that will blow yours away?
If you have a gorgeous wife, there is alway someone else that has one that is better looking and/or has more money to share with her sugar daddy?
If you finally have a net worth of $1,000,000, you meet someone that digs ditches, that has $2,000,000?

Never taken any car to a car show for that reason (and others, mostly just not interested).
There's always a more beautiful face, faster car, bigger bank roll... is what it is.
That is one of life's lessons hopefully earned early in life. Competitive sports did a good job of teaching me that lesson. It's not whether or not someone has something that is better or does something that is better as there always will be, it's in how you handle it as nothing in life is necessarily fair or just. All you should worry about are the things that you can control and continually try to get better. My next step is headers on my Z06, LOL!
Personally, I'm extremely grateful for everything that I have. I'm also respectful and appreciative of other's accomplishments and/or achievements.
And if I were a highly competitive soul, I'd keep in mind that even though I may not be the "top dog" there are still many others out there wishing they had what I have.
Life is short, enjoy and be grateful for what you have.
I came from humble beginnings and appreciate everything I have. I don't want or need much and have never had the mentality of keeping up with the Jonses. My daily driver is a rusty old pickup that I bought new in '03. Never cared what other people thought.
You guys are exactly right.
Worry about the important things.
I see a lot of guys here that are obsessed with their cars, to the point of being fanatics. I love a great looking car, but I drive mine and enjoy them while I can. Yes, some folks go over board about things that are really unimportant, but to them they are important.
My point is, fretting our whose is 'best', will give you ulcers or worse.

nothing wrong with being a car fanatic, I would consider myself one and it's just something that I happen to enjoy a lot but I do it for my own pleasure... I don't go to car shows, cruise ins, meets, whatever you want to call it
there will always be someone smarter, faster, richer, prettier....etc.
they still put on their pants the same way as everyone else - one leg at a time.
Presuming they don’t have holier than thou attitudes because of said differences, then you learn they go through the same BS as everyone else, and may not be so different after all.
I've always lived my life not worrying about what others have or I don't have. I figure that's why I still have my hair and it's not grey yet. I'm very blessed to have what I do. A guy at work once said something that's totally true no matter what it's referring to I think. He was actually referring to a pretty girl that was on tv when he said it though. "Somebody somewhere is tired of her s**t." So be careful what you wish for. Figure out what makes you happy and go with it.
I say "who cares?" I too came from a poor family and we had NO car for most of the time. Now I have a Corvette in the garage and money in the bank due to HARD WORK...
Don't give a flying #%$&* whose car is shinier and goes faster or whose wife is a Barbie doll... All BS to me...
I go to a bunch of car shows don't care if mine measures up to anyone else. Like to look at the pretty women, the expensive cars, get into mine happily-- I drive away enjoying the ride.
But... but... think of the $15 discount store trophies that no one will care about once the show is over. Spending eight hours detailing your car is 100% completely worth that $15 trophy.
