150HP without big cams or forced induction? Nitrous? And a bit more...To keep up with the new quick cars, you'll need ponies and driveline mods. Takes a fair bit of money to do properly (be drivable and dependable).

As said, it would be very difficult with those restrictions. A LS3 swap with some bolt-ons might get you there without a big cam or forced induction, but makes less sense than a supercharger from a cost perspective.

I agree. Without some heavy modding or a supercharger, getting to that power level is going to be very hard.

Click on my profile, and look for threads I've started. 2000 6-speed build.
I am at 514 cshp, and 459 rwhp, all with bolt-ons, no forced induction or power adders.
The car runs like raped ape, and I love it.

You're pretty far down the rabbit hole to get to those numbers. Full heads/cam/intake/exhaust, all the support that's required, and once you've added the power your clutch just waived the white flag. Don't forget to rebuild the torque tube while it's out doing the clutch. And what the hell, swap the gear while the driveline is apart. No quick/easy solution for that power done right. That said, it's a blast when it's finished!

My '02 has a Vortec supercharger and puts down 450HP/410 ft-lbs torque at the wheels. There are no internal engine mods (stock cam, stock heads, stock exhaust manifolds). It does have an older Corsa Indy Pace Car cat-back and an X-pipe exhaust. It does have larger injectors to support the increased intake air and a water intercooler. The blower package came with a custom tune by SuprChips. When I bought the car, the seller showed me a couple time slips from his local drag strip and one showed a 11.6 ET and 127 MPH. What I like about this setup is that it drives like a stock C5 until you go WOT. A 1-2 **** at WOT will get the car waay out of shape And it still gets 30 MPG+ when cruising in 6th gear at 75!
