Question about installing the LMC5 module
I'm looking over the instructions and i have a couple questions.
first is says make sure the steering is free. it is because i have a bypass installed in the steering column, so that's cool.
the question i have is this.. step 2a is removing the steering column lock relay.. with it already bypassed, is this step necessary? or leave well enough alone?

Remove the relay as per instructions. It can't hurt and it will completly ensure that your steering column lock will always work.
don't forget to do the "brown wire"

If your steering wheel is unlocked, then follow the instructions and remove the relay. I had no idea what was done to my car, so, I called the lmc05 manufacturer when I installed mine in July. They said their system bypasses the entire lock system and said to install it as in the directions. They did mention that since my car was a 2004, I could probably get away with not doing the brown wire mod, so I didn’t do it.

OK it's in and seems to be working , i did nto get the dic messages. I did NOT disconnect that relay, I could not get both hands in there to get it loose, but i have the driver side CLB installed from a few years ago. I also took advice and did the brown wire mod. I'm hoping I am good to go.

Early produced LMC5 kits DO NOT have the brown wire option!
